The role suits someone with 5+ years in residential estimating, a solid grasp of construction, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in residential estimating.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction and building processes.
• Excellent ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications.
• Experience with take offs, costing and tender preparation.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and pricing for residential construction projects.
• Review architectural plans, engineering drawings, specifications and selections.
• Complete detailed take-offs and quantity measurements.
• Prepare accurate costings and tender submissions.
• Obtain and assess pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Review variations and project changes.
• Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive and commercially viable.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Identify potential cost risks and opportunities throughout the estimating process.
• Work closely with the construction team to ensure a smooth handover from estimating through to construction.

About You

• 5+ years’ experience in residential estimating
• Experience in Data Build highly regarded
• Strong knowledge of residential construction and building processes
• Excellent ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications
• Experience with take offs, costing and tender preparation
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong computer and estimating software skills
• A proactive approach and the ability to work autonomously
• A genuine interest in building a long-term career within residential construction
