Job summary

NEX Building Group is seeking a Production Estimator in New South Wales for a PART TIME - 4 Days per week - 12 Month Contract with a view to extension. A PERMANENT FULL TIME position is also available.

You will analyze plans, complete detailed take-offs, and manage documentation to ensure accuracy and cost control across projects. You will join a group delivering residential builds with strong focus on quality, industry leadership, and professional development.

Qualifications

• 2+ years estimating experience in construction or related field.
• Strong ability to read and interpret plans and technical documentation.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in costings and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Analyse plans and contract documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Complete detailed material, labour, and plant take-offs.
• Coordinate and manage documentation amendments prior to construction.
• Issue and manage purchase orders in line with supplier agreements.
• Review supplier quotes to ensure full project scope is covered.
• Process ETS invoices and manage cost reconciliation.
• Maintain project records and documentation across systems.
• Support quality control by reviewing team outputs and managing variations.

About the opportunity

Play a key role in setting construction projects up for success by delivering precise, high-quality estimates and documentation. You’ll work closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure every job is accurate, consistent, and ready for construction. More specifically, you will:

About you

You will share a passion for our purpose to be Australia’s number one residential builder and be aligned to our core values. In addition, you will demonstrate:

• A minimum of 2 years estimating experience in a similar role and industry
• Understanding of Building Code of Australia and BASIX
• Exceptional computer skills with a medium to advanced knowledge of Excel
• Strong ability to read and interpret plans and technical documentation
• High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
• Sound understanding of building processes, materials, and costings
