Job summary

Cooper Civil and Crushing is seeking an experienced Crusher Operator to independently run crushing operations across quarry sites. The role is hands-on, solo, and focused on achieving production targets safely.

The successful candidate will begin in a casual position during a probationary period, with transition to full-time employment upon satisfactory performance. A long-term commitment is valued.

Qualifications

• Loader RII competency/ticketing required.
• Crushing/quarry experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operate crushing and quarry equipment independently.
• Crush materials to specified tolerances.
• Conduct daily pre-starts and routine maintenance.
• Maintain equipment to high standard and identify issues early.
• Work safely and follow site procedures and KPIs.
• Liaise with Operations Leader on production needs and priorities.
• Meet production targets and deadlines.
• Keep operations moving and request help when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organised work area.
• Take ownership of equipment while on site.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Crusher Operator to join our team, independently operating, maintaining and managing crushing operations across various quarry sites and materials.

This is a hands-on, solo operator role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of production targets and deadlines, and can be trusted to get the job done safely and efficiently without constant supervision.

Crusher Operator – Quarry Operations

The Role

• Independently operating crushing and associated quarry equipment.
• Crushing a variety of materials to required specifications.
• Completing daily pre-starts, inspections and routine maintenance.
• Maintaining machinery to a high standard and identifying issues before they become major problems.
• Working safely and following all site procedures and requirements.
• Liaising with the Operations Leader regarding production requirements, priorities and any issues affecting production.
• Working to agreed production targets, deadlines and KPIs.
• Keeping the crushing operation moving and communicating early if assistance or additional resources are required.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and professional work area.
• Taking ownership of the equipment and the operation while you are on site.

Employment Arrangement

The successful applicant will initially commence in a casual position during a probationary period.

Subject to satisfactory performance, attendance, reliability and suitability for the role, the position will transition to full-time employment following the probationary period.

Tickets & Requirements

Essential:

• Loader RII competency/ticketing.
• Relevant crushing/quarry experience.
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical.
• Ability to successfully complete a police check.
• Current driver's licence.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and independently.

Desirable:

• Excavator RII/VOC.
• Additional quarry or mobile plant competencies.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and fault identification.

Roster

The roster can be 7 days on / 7 days off or 5 days on / 2 days off, with the final arrangement negotiable for the successful applicant.

This Role Requires Accountability

This is not a role where you will have someone standing beside you telling you what to do all day.

You will be responsible for your own work area, equipment and production. We need someone who understands that we need to get crushing and that reliability is a critical part of the position.

Being on time, turning up consistently, maintaining the equipment properly and communicating when something isn't right are all essential.
