Job summary

Cooper Civil & Crushing is seeking an experienced Crusher Operator to join our team, operating across mine sites, quarries and major projects throughout NSW.

This hands-on role requires proven ability to operate, maintain and manage mobile crushing plants, feed crushers with excavators, stockpile material and hit production targets while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven, hands-on experience operating, maintaining and managing a mobile crushing plant.
• Experience in quarrying, mining or similar production environments.
• Ability to independently manage day-to-day crushing plant operations.
• Maintenance experience, fault identification and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of material flow, production needs and equipment performance.
• At least two years’ experience operating heavy mobile plant (50T+ excavators and large loaders).

Responsibilities

• Independently operating and managing mobile crushing and screening equipment.
• Operating an excavator to feed the crusher and maintain consistent material flow.
• Operating a large loader to stockpile crushed material and support production.
• Monitoring plant performance and ensuring products meet required specifications.
• Completing daily pre-starts, inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Carrying out screen changes, fixing grease lines and completing basic mechanical tasks within your competency.
• Identifying faults, troubleshooting issues and minimising downtime.
• Maintaining machinery and equipment to a high standard.
• Working towards production targets, deadlines and KPIs.
• Liaising with the Operations Leader regarding production requirements and equipment issues.
• Maintaining a clean, organised work area and complying with mine site safety requirements.

About the Opportunity

Cooper Civil & Crushing is seeking an experienced Crusher Operator to join our team, working across mine sites, quarries and major projects throughout NSW.

We are looking for an operator with proven, hands‑on experience operating, maintaining and managing mobile crushing plants who can take responsibility for an operation and keep production moving.

This is a hands‑on position for someone who knows their equipment, understands production targets and can work independently without constant supervision.

Important: This is not an entry‑level crusher position. Genuine, practical crushing experience is essential. Applicants who have only assisted another operator, occasionally fed a crusher or had limited exposure to crusher maintenance will not meet the requirements for this role.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Independently operating and managing mobile crushing and screening equipment.

• Operating an excavator to feed the crusher and maintain consistent material flow.

• Operating a large loader to stockpile crushed material and support production.

• Monitoring plant performance and ensuring products meet required specifications.

This is a hands‑on role. You must be prepared to assist with general plant duties, housekeeping and other operational tasks when required. We need someone who is willing to get involved, lend a hand and grab a shovel when needed.

Essential Experience

Applicants must have:

• Proven, hands‑on experience operating, maintaining and managing a mobile crushing plant.

• Experience in quarrying, mining or a similar production environment.

• The practical knowledge to manage the day‑to‑day operation of a crushing plant independently.

• Experience carrying out routine maintenance, identifying faults and troubleshooting operational issues.

• A sound understanding of material flow, production requirements and equipment performance.

• At least two years’ experience operating relevant heavy mobile plant, including large loaders and/or 50T+ excavators, as required for the position.

• The ability to work safely in high‑production, high‑pressure environments.

Tickets & Other Requirements

Essential:

• Loader RII competency/ticketing.

• Excavator RII/VOC

• Current driver's licence.

• Clean police check.

• Ability to successfully complete a pre‑employment medical.

• Commitment to workplace safety and site compliance.

• Excavator RII/VOC.

• Additional quarry, crushing and mobile plant competencies.

• Experience with preventative maintenance and fault identification.

Roster & Travel

• 7 on / 7 off.

• Day and night shifts, depending on operational requirements.

• FIFO arrangements from Bankstown, NSW.

• Drive in Drive Out

• Work across mine sites and major projects throughout NSW.
