Job summary

Community Services #1 is seeking an Emergency Relief Officer to enable and enhance the lives of people in our community. This role provides crisis intake and immediate assistance, coordinating care plans and connecting clients with services to improve wellbeing.

You will build partnerships, support food pantry operations, and engage with clients and volunteers in a supportive workplace. Applicants must have a valid driver's licence and be able to obtain pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services, Disability Support, Health Services or related human services field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience delivering telephone and face-to-face assessment, referral, and support services to diverse individuals and communities.
• Understanding of risk assessment, duty of care and safeguarding in community/health service settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intake, assessment and immediate financial/material assistance to individuals and families in need.
• Coordinate care plans, deliver financial wellbeing support and connect clients with services, advocacy and referrals.
• Build and maintain community partnerships and support food pantry operations, client engagement and volunteer coordination.
