Job summary

St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland in Cairns invites applications for a Permanent, Full Time Crisis Support Worker based in Manunda. You will provide end-to-end support for clients through our Early Intervention Homestay Program, helping people sustain tenancies across private, social, community and public housing.

The role involves case management, advocacy, budgeting support, and tenant rights information to help homeless or at-risk clients access safe, affordable housing.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Community Services or related field.
• Knowledge of legislation and guidelines relating to specialist homelessness services.
• Experience as a Support Worker or in homelessness services.
• Ability to advocate for clients and maintain confidentiality of client information.
• Ability to work unsupervised at times and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end support from intake to exit.
• Deliver high-quality case management, advice, referrals and advocacy.
• Support budgeting and tenant rights information for clients.
• Assist clients to access safe, affordable, and stable housing.
• Work with adults with complex needs to improve tenancy outcomes.
