Job summary

cba is seeking a data-minded Credit Risk Practitioner to join the team in Sydney. You will use data, governance and collaboration to improve credit strategy across originations, portfolio management and collections, translating insights into practical actions.

You’ll work with product, pricing, tech, operations, distribution and risk teams to design risk improvements that strengthen portfolio performance, while embracing continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit risk, preferably in retail lending.
• Strong analytical capability, with ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.
• Proficient in SQL, Python, SAS, Excel and data visualization tools.
• Experience with modern data platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Ability to translate analysis into practical recommendations balancing customer outcomes and risk.

Responsibilities

• Credit strategy design and optimisation across originations, accounts, and collections.
• Portfolio insight and performance monitoring; identify trends and opportunities.
• Governance and controlled change delivery with testing and documentation.
• Analytics and continuous improvement using data platforms to strengthen decisioning.
