Job summary

Bankwest Retail is seeking a Credit Risk Practitioner to shape credit strategy across the lifecycle, leveraging data and governance to improve portfolio performance. You will own end-to-end credit challenges, from diagnosis to delivery, collaborating with Product, Pricing, Technology, Operations, and Risk teams.

The role focuses on designing strategies, monitoring performance, and delivering practical improvements with strong testing and validation. Hybrid work with office presence supported.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit risk, preferably in retail lending.
• Strong analytical capability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, SAS, Excel, Tableau for analysis and monitoring.
• Experience with modern data platforms like BigQuery or Snowflake.
• Ability to translate analysis into practical recommendations balancing customer outcomes and risk.
• Understanding of Australian retail credit portfolios and key segments.
• Knowledge of core portfolio metrics: losses, recoveries, provisions, and returns.
• Strong problem solving, structured thinking, and collaboration across stakeholders.
• Curiosity, ownership mindset, and willingness to learn.
• Tertiary qualification in a quantitative/analytical field is valued.
