Job summary

The Carrington in Shepparton, Vic, is seeking a talented Chef for a full-time role. You will craft high-quality, creative dishes for a vibrant venue operating daily from 7am to 10pm, with a 38-hour week and superannuation.

Applicants should have a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent, proven cooking experience, strong food safety knowledge, and excellent teamwork and time-management skills. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and public holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Chef in hospitality or restaurant environments.
• Sound knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
• A well groomed and professional appearance.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task, be punctual and dependable.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes from our diverse menu.
• Ensure all meals are delivered to the highest standards of quality, taste and presentation.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to create new menu items and enhance existing recipes.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
• Assist in stock control, including inventory management and ordering of supplies.
• Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
• Train and support newly hired kitchen staff for smooth integration and consistent standards.
