Job summary

The role focuses on planning, delivering instruction and assessing student progress to meet diverse needs, with opportunities to mentor student teachers and contribute to school priorities.

You will work under guidance initially, with exposure to policy development, community engagement and alignment to department values to support student learning and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Victorian curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning high impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning using data.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents and staff.
• Commitment to Department values and ongoing professional learning.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a growing school team.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individuals.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertake other classroom teaching and organisational duties as required.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties.
