Job summary

G4S Australia and New Zealand is recruiting Court Security Officers for Geelong (Casual). You’ll contribute to safety at courts by greeting entrants, performing x-ray screening, metal detector checks and patrolling the building.

Casual roles offer daytime hours Monday to Friday with paid on-site training to become an Authorised Officer of the Courts; willingness to travel across Geelong and Colac Court; and opportunities for referral bonuses.

Qualifications

• Certificate II Security Operations.
• Current Victorian security licence.
• Willingness to complete Background Check, National Police Check, and Pre-employment medical with D&A assessment.
• Must be willing to travel across Geelong & Colac Court.

Responsibilities

• Providing exceptional customer service to anyone entering the court.
• Conducting x-ray screening, using metal detectors and searching individuals for prohibited items.
• Roving security patrols within and external to the building.
• Conflict resolution and negotiation.
• Acting as a first responder to any incidents that may occur.
• Managing access and control rooms.

About the role and team

Our team at Court Services Victoria keeps the courts and tribunals and the people who attend them safe, secure and orderly. As a valued team member, you’ll play a significant role in helping build safer communities by ensuring the public feel safe and protected when dealing with the judicial system. This is a varied position where you have to think on your feet, be able to problem solve and work as a team, making no two days the same.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Providing exceptional customer service to anyone entering the court

Court Services Victoria is divided into seven hub locations across the state. There are more than 65 courts across Victoria allocated to these hubs. Your workplace within a hub can be both fixed or flexible, and we can provide opportunities for movement within the contract to support your requirements. Our Barwon Hub 1 consists of Geelong and Colac Court.

What we’re looking for

• Certificate II Security Operations
