Job summary

South32 is hiring a Core Yard Technician to support production and exploration outcomes. You will manage core yard preparation, storage and sample handling on an 8:6 roster with FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa and McKinlay shires. The role requires strong data discipline and collaboration with drilling contractors.

About the Role

We have 12 month and 24 month Fixed‑Term Contract positions available on an 8:6 roster, Monday‑Monday, FIFO from Brisbane and Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

As the Core Yard Technician, you will be responsible for managing the preparation, handling and storage of core and sample materials to support production and exploration outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain core yard, equipment and storage systems
• Coordinate sample dispatch and laboratory submissions
• Liaise with drilling contractors on sample standards
• Track inventory, consumables and sample records
