Job summary

South32 in Queensland seeks an Engineer Scheduling on a permanent basis. The role is FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville/Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay Shires. You will deliver rolling 13W plans to support safe, efficient and profitable orebody extraction.

Key duties include budget support, mine design guidance, identifying uplift opportunities, and communicating risks. Bachelor of Engineering-Mining or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with underground mine planning and execution.
• Strong data analysis and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work across technical and operational teams.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a permanent position on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville/Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay Shires.

As the Engineer Scheduling, you will be responsible for delivering rolling 13W plans that support safe, efficient and profitable extraction of the orebody while identifying risks, supporting operational delivery and driving continuous improvement.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

• Supporting quarterly and yearly budget processes
• Provide contextual schedule guidance in mine design and execution decisions
• Identifying volume and grade uplift opportunities and facilitating actions to realise
• Communicate plan and execution risks and recommend mitigation actions
• Partner with mine-wide teams to inform plans and optimise outcomes
