Job summary

Leading Gold Mining Operator WA in Western Australia seeks a Core Yard Technician to support site-based geology and exploration programs. You will receive, handle, and organise drill core samples, prep core trays, and assist with sample dispatch on site.

The role requires experience in core yard or mining environments, a strong safety focus, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment. FIFO from Perth is preferred. Immediate start and a competitive hourly rate offered.

Your new company Join a leading gold mining operation in Western Australia with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Due to increased activity within the exploration and geology department, an opportunity has become available for an experienced Core Yard Technician to support site-based geological programs on an initial 2-month contract.

Your new role As a Core Yard Technician, you will play a key role in supporting geological and exploration activities on site.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Receiving, handling, and organising drill core samples
• Core tray preparation, labelling, and storage
• Cutting and sampling drill core in accordance with site procedures
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient core yard
• Assisting geologists with sample dispatch and data collection
• Operating core saws and other core yard equipment
• Conducting manual handling and lifting of core trays
• Supporting daily geology and exploration activities as required

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience working in a core yard, exploration, or mining environment
• Experience handling and processing drill core
• Strong commitment to safety and site procedures
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Current Australian driver's licence
• Forklift ticket (desirable)
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
• FIFO experience highly regarded
