4 Pints Hospitality Group Pty Ltd – Traralgon VIC is seeking an experienced and passionate Cook/Chef to join Hotel Traralgon’s culinary team. This is a full-time role based in Traralgon, VIC.

You will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals and maintaining kitchen standards to deliver an exceptional dining experience. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cook/Chef to join the culinary team at Hotel Traralgon. This is a full-time position based in Traralgon, VIC. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen standards, and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests. You will work collaboratively with our kitchen team to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency in all food preparation and service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes, plating standards, and dietary requirements
• Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness at all times
• Manage mise en place and ensure all ingredients and cooking stations are properly organised and stocked
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure dishes are cooked to perfection and served promptly
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless service during peak periods
• Assist in menu development and suggest creative culinary ideas to enhance our offerings
• Follow all food safety regulations and health code requirements
• Support kitchen management in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff where applicable
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Cook or Chef in a professional hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and culinary principles
• Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen sanitation practices
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent quality in food preparation
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items safely
• Flexibility with shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Relevant culinary qualifications or formal training would be advantageous
• Experience with menu planning and costing would be beneficial
