Job summary

MS & MA Pty Ltd t/a Marko's Greek Kitchen Bar in Williamstown, VIC, is seeking an experienced Cook to join the kitchen team. You will work alongside the Chef to prepare and deliver high-quality Greek and Mediterranean dishes during busy service periods.

Key responsibilities include preparing and cooking a range of authentic dishes, checking ingredient freshness, regulating oven and grill temperatures, portioning and plating, and assisting with menu planning.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
• AQF Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook authentic Greek and Mediterranean dishes.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team at Marko's Greek Kitchen. Working alongside our Chef and wider kitchen staff, you will play a hands‑on role in preparing and delivering high-quality Greek and Mediterranean dishes during busy service periods.

Key responsibilities

Preparing, seasoning and cooking a range of authentic Greek and Mediterranean dishes - including grilled meats, seafood and traditional mezze - in line with our recipes and quality standards

Checking the freshness and quality of ingredients before and during preparation

Regulating oven, grill and stovetop temperatures to ensure dishes are cooked correctly and consistently

Portioning and plating dishes, adding sauces, garnishes and accompaniments to presentation standards

Storing food correctly in temperature-controlled areas in line with food safety requirements

Preparing meals to accommodate special dietary requirements where needed

Assisting with menu planning and estimating food and ingredient requirements for service

Supporting and helping train junior kitchen staff as required

Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen in line with hygiene regulations

About you

Proven experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen, ideally within Greek, Mediterranean or similar cuisine

AQF Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent relevant experience

Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

Ability to stay calm and efficient during high-volume service periods

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends
