Job summary

Zeus Street Greek Swanbourne is seeking an experienced Cook to join its busy Swanbourne kitchen, preparing a range of Greek dishes to a high standard.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years cooking experience, a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (desirable) and the ability to work under pressure in a team.

This is a full-time position with immediate availability and opportunities to grow within a vibrant, customer-focused Greek kitchen.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Cook.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery desirable but not essential with related experience.
• Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Strong skills in grilling, roasting, braising and baking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, season, cook and portion Greek dishes from fresh ingredients.
• Prepare ingredients in advance for service and ensure freshness.
• Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and proficiently.
• Coordinate timing of multiple dishes to maintain efficient service.
• Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house to coordinate meal timing.
• Monitor food quality, temperatures and presentation throughout service.
• Communicate shortages and issues to managers and staff.
• Train junior kitchen staff on cooking methods.
• Follow food hygiene and safety requirements.
• Label, store, and preserve ingredients per safety rules.
