Job summary

Genus delivers end-to-end innovative solutions across transmission, distribution, substations, communications, and renewable energy sectors across Australia. As part of GenusPlus Group, we seek a Contracts Administrator to support the Parron Wind Farm project, a 330kV high-capacity transmission terminal station.

In this role you will manage subcontract activities, review claims and variations, coordinate with project controls and engineers, and provide commercial guidance to the team,

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a commercial or contract management role.
  • Demonstrated procurement experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • High-level communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced MS Office capability (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Outlook).
  • Subcontract management is relationship-driven; build relationships in person and over the phone.
  • Patience, understanding and foresight; proactive collaboration with the wider team.
  • Experience working with the wider team to produce collaborative outcomes.
  • Performance‑driven culture.

Responsibilities

  • Management of payment claims, variations, site instructions, insurances, subcontract compliance and performance.
  • Intently focus on performance with respect to the head contract project programme.
  • Ownership of budget and forecast management of your dedicated subcontracts.
  • Procure your dedicated subcontract packages including RFQ preparation and issue through to review of RFQ submissions including contract negotiation while coordinating with project controls, engineers and subcontractors.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Provide commercial advice to the wider project team.
  • Coordinate subcontractor weekly progress meetings.
  • Learn from and work closely with senior people in the business including Senior Contracts Administrator, Commercial Manager, Project Director.

About the opportunity
Genus are seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join our team and support delivery of our Parron Wind Farm – 330kV High Capacity Western Power Transmission Terminal Station.
Genus has been engaged to deliver Design & Construct (D&C) high-voltage infrastructure works, including civil, electrical and structural works associated with a new 330kV transmission terminal station.
This greenfield renewable energy project requires strong commercial insight, contract management capability, coordination skills, and technical expertise, along with a commitment to safety, quality, and compliance in a high‑voltage, fast‑paced construction environment.
Your day-to-day activities will include:
Your day shall be split into two main areas of subcontract management which includes subcontract general management and procurement activities. These include:

  • Management of payment claims, variations, site instructions, insurances, subcontract compliance and performance;
  • Intently focus on performance with respect to the head contract project programme;
  • Ownership of budget and forecast management of your dedicated subcontracts;
  • Procure your dedicated subcontract packages including RFQ preparation and issue right through to review of RFQ submissions including contract negotiation while simultaneously working with project controls, engineers and subcontractors;
  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Provide commercial advice to the wider project team;
  • Coordinate subcontractor weekly progress meetings;
  • Learn from and work closely with senior people in the business including Senior Contracts Administrator, Commercial Manager, Project Director.

About you
You’re a proactive, organised, detail orientedprofessional who thrives in a high‑performing, fast‑paced project environment.

You will bring:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial or contract management role;
  • Demonstrated procurement experience;
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • High-level communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills;
  • Advanced MS Office capability (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Outlook).
  • The understanding that subcontract management is all about relationships, and spend time developing relationships in person and over the phone;
  • Patience, understanding and foresight;
  • Experience in working with the wider team to produce collaborative outcomes;
  • Performance‑culture attitude.

Desirable:

  • Qualifications in contracts or commercial/business law;
  • Experience in project management, tendering, or working within electricity, engineering, utilities, construction or resources sectors;
  • Experience with cost‑plus and risk‑reward contract arrangements, and solid understanding of AS4000 contracts.
