Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is partnering with a well-established commercial construction company in Canberra to recruit an Experienced Contracts Administrator. This role requires 4+ years' experience and offers ownership of the commercial and contractual side of projects, working closely with a Senior Project Manager.

You will support the delivery of high-quality commercial construction and fit-out projects across Canberra, including managing subcontractor packages, negotiating contracts,

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience as a Contracts Administrator in commercial construction.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and subcontract administration.
• Experience managing variations, claims, EOTs and progress payments.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proactive approach with the ability to work autonomously.
• A relevant construction, quantity surveying or commercial qualification is advantageous.
• Must have the right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor packages from procurement to final account.
• Prepare, review and administer subcontractor contracts.
• Manage variations, progress claims, extensions of time and contractual correspondence.
• Assist with project budgets, cost reporting and forecasting.
• Review and negotiate subcontractor claims.
• Manage project documentation and contractual obligations.
• Work closely with the Senior Project Manager, Site Manager, consultants and subcontractors.
• Identify and manage commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the project from procurement through to completion.
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants and key stakeholders.
