Job summary

CPB Contractors invites applications for an experienced Contracts Administrator to join the project team near Ararat, Victoria. You will report to the Contracts Manager and oversee subcontractor agreements, procurement, and commercial reporting to support project delivery.

The role focuses on contract administration, cost control and coordination with delivery teams to ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in Contracts/Commercial administration.
  • Experience on civil infrastructure projects including roads, bridges or rail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage subcontractor and supplier contracts from award to completion.
  • Prepare and administer subcontract agreements and purchase orders.
  • Assess progress claims, payment schedules and invoices.
  • Manage contract variations and extensions of time.
  • Monitor project budgets, commitments and cost forecasts.
  • Assist with procurement activities and tender evaluations.
  • Support monthly commercial reporting and project financial reviews.

Your opportunity
  • We are seeking an experienced and motivated Contracts Administrator to join our project team based near Ararat, Victoria. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in managing subcontractor and supplier contracts, project financial administration, procurement activities, and commercial reporting.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the Contracts Administrator will sit within the project team and be accountable for:

  • Manage subcontractor and supplier contracts from award through to final completion.
  • Prepare and administer subcontract agreements and purchase orders.
  • Assess and process progress claims, payment schedules, and supplier invoices.
  • Manage contract variations, extensions of time, and contractual correspondence.
  • Monitor project budgets, commitments, and cost forecasts.
  • Assist with procurement activities, tender evaluations, and subcontractor selection.
  • Support monthly commercial reporting and project financial reviews.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate project records and document control systems.
  • Work collaboratively with project delivery teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with project, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Our Minimum Requirements For This Role Are
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Law or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Contracts Administrator or Commercial Administrator role.
  • Experience working on civil infrastructure, road, bridge, rail, utilities, or major construction projects.
  • Proven experience managing subcontractor and supplier contracts.
  • Strong understanding of project financial controls, procurement, and cost management.
  • Experience administering contract variations and payment claims.
