Job summary

Halcyon Knights on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Communications Officer (Design Support) to join a State Government agency. You will deliver professional, accessible communication materials and provide design and administrative support across multiple projects.

The role requires strong graphic design and layout skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to coordinate with a wide range of stakeholders while adhering to branding guidelines.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a communications, design or similar role.
• Strong graphic design and document layout skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and branding/style guideline adherence.
• Excellent organisation skills and ability to manage deadlines.
• Confidence working with stakeholders at various levels.
• Strong administrative and records management skills.
• Proactive, collaborative approach with customer service focus.
• Understanding of contemporary, accessible, audience-focused communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide communications, design and administrative support across stakeholder engagement activities.
• Design and produce professional materials: maps, flyers, fact sheets, newsletters, infographics, plans, reports and presentations.
• Ensure materials align with corporate branding and style guidelines.
• Provide administrative support including note-taking, records management and collateral coordination.
• Manage multiple priorities using project management tools.
• Coordinate procurement of communication and design services from external partners.
• Source imagery for use across materials.
• Stay updated on design and communications trends to produce accessible content.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide responsive, customer-focused design and communications support.
