Job summary

Gold Coast State Government Agency is seeking a Communications Officer (Design Support) to join the team on a full-time contract from 9 November 2026 to May 2027, with possible extension. The role combines communications, graphic design and administrative tasks to deliver professional, accessible materials for diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in a communications, design or similar role within a large or complex organisation.
• Strong graphic design and document layout skills to create polished materials.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow branding guidelines.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage competing deadlines and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide communication, design and administrative support across stakeholder engagement activities.
• Design and produce professional communication materials including maps, flyers, fact sheets, newsletters, infographics, plans, reports and presentations.
• Ensure materials are consistent with branding, identity and style guidelines.
• Provide administrative support including note taking, records management and coordination of collateral.
• Manage multiple priorities using project management tools.
• Coordinate procurement of communication and design services from external contractors.
• Source imagery for use across materials and coordinate visuals.
