Job summary

NEX Building Group Pty Ltd is seeking a Construction Training Manager to lead onboarding, induction and ongoing training for our construction workforce. The role is based at Norwest with travel to NSW regional branches to conduct inductions for new hires.

You will drive a three-week induction program, coordinate training and e-learning modules, and collaborate with site leaders and HR to plan effective onboarding across our brands.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering technical construction and safety training.
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment is required.
  • Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to positively engage with people at all levels.
  • Strong commitment to safety, health & environment procedures.
  • Willingness to learn new technology and work with a diverse team.
  • Driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and deliver a three-week induction program to onboard new site supervisors.
  • Arrange training rooms and practical site-based learning; ensure e-learning modules are completed.
  • Partner with construction managers and HR to plan induction training.
  • Conduct training analysis to identify skill gaps and address them via multi-modal training.
  • Manage completion of structured inductions including policy acknowledgement.
  • Deliver structured training using a blend of virtual, online and in-person methods.
  • Oversee MJH Construction Cadetship, Traineeship and Graduate Programs.
  • Mentor early career talent to map career development and improve retention.

About the opportunity

Reporting into the Organisational Development Manager you will play a crucial role in contributing to the success of the McDonald Jones Homes and MOJO Homes construction teams through facilitating onboarding, induction, and ongoing training for our construction employees. More specifically, you will:

  • Facilitate and deliver a three-week induction program with the aim of setting new construction site supervisors are onboarded and set up for success
  • Arrange training room and practical construction site based learning and ensure that eleanring modules are completed within induction timeframes
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders including construction managers, and HR to plan relevant, timely and effective induction training
  • Conduct thorough training analysis to identify critical skill gaps with our construction and operations teams and address these through multi modal training
  • Manage completion of structured inductions including acknowledgement of policies and procedures
  • Deliver structured, engaging training utilising a blended approach of virtual, online and in person
  • Oversee employees completing the MJH Construction Cadetship, Traineeship and Graduate Programs
  • Mentor and coach construction early career talent to ensure effective career plans are being mapped for their future development to improve retention, engagement and productivity
  • Identify ways to improve our technical training programs and construction team onboarding experiences
