Job summary

Morgan Consulting is seeking an experienced Loss Adjuster with a background in construction, property and contract-related claims based in Melbourne. You will manage claims from instruction through resolution, performing site inspections, assessing losses and preparing detailed technical reports for insurers.

You will review contracts, variations and scopes of work, liaise with engineers, solicitors and insurers, and provide sound, commercially-focused recommendations.

Qualifications

• Experience in loss adjusting with construction/property claims.
• Ability to interpret building contracts and variations.
• Strong report-writing and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage complex assignments independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of construction, property and contract-related claims from initial instruction through to final resolution.
• Investigate and assess complex building damage, defects, contract disputes and associated losses.
• Undertake detailed site inspections and investigations to establish cause, extent and circumstances of loss.
• Review construction contracts, building agreements, scopes of work, variations and contractual obligations.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, scopes of repair, cost assessments and recommendations for insurers.
• Assess construction methodologies, rectification costs, project delays and potential contractual liabilities.
• Liaise with builders, contractors, engineers, architects, solicitors, insurers and other technical specialists.
• Investigate disputed claims, identifying liability considerations and providing sound technical advice.
• Monitor rectification works, project costs and timeframes to ensure appropriate claim outcomes.
• Interpret relevant policy wordings and contractual documentation when assessing coverage and exposure.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders while delivering high-quality technical outcomes.
