Job summary

Salexo Consulting in Sydney is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new business in the construction materials space. You will identify opportunities, build relationships with builders and contractors, and manage an existing customer base while expanding the sales pipeline.

You will actively hunt for new business, develop opportunities from initial contact to sale, and collaborate with pricing, estimating, operations and customer service to win and grow revenue.

Qualifications

• Proven B2B sales experience within construction materials or building products.
• Strong track record in new business development.
• Understanding of the construction market and customer base.
• Ability to develop opportunities from initial conversation through to sale.

Responsibilities

• 70% new business development and 30% existing account management.
• Identify, target and win new customers across the construction sector.
• Develop relationships with builders, contractors, developers and other industry stakeholders.
• Generate new project and specification opportunities.
• Manage and grow an existing portfolio of customers.
• Conduct regular customer visits and maintain a strong presence in the market.
• Build and manage a consistent sales pipeline.
• Work closely with internal teams across pricing, estimating, operations and customer service.
• Identify opportunities to increase share of wallet across existing and new customers.
