Job summary

Melrose Built is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to support our Fitout and Refurb division in Brisbane. You will drive procurement, administer contracts, and manage payment claims to keep projects on budget and on schedule.

Reporting to the Project Manager and collaborating with the Team Leader, you will oversee tender handover, practical completion, final accounts, and ongoing cost reporting across multiple live projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as a Contract Administrator on the builder side.
• Commercial management of construction projects across head contracts and subcontracts.
• Knowledge of QLD BIF Act and security-of-payment obligations.

Responsibilities

• Run the full procurement process from scoping trade packages to award recommendations.
• Administer head contracts and subcontracts and maintain contract records.
• Track and issue notices and capture cost changes in real time.
• Prepare head-contract payment claims and assess subcontractor claims within BIF Act timeframes.
• Set project budgets with the Project Manager and produce cost reports.
• Identify procurement risks early and raise with the team.
• Manage practical completion, defects, warranties, and final account closure.
• Mentor junior team members and maintain client/subcontractor relationships.
• Follow Melrose HSEQ and quality systems on every project.
