Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking an experienced Accounts Officer for a hands-on role in a commercial construction environment. Based in Redland Bay, the position supports day-to-day accounting and project administration, with a requirement for Xero proficiency and strong Excel skills.

You will handle AP/AR, payroll processing, reconciliations, and liaise with subcontractors and external accountants in a dynamic office setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in an Accounts Officer or similar role.
• Proficiency with Xero and MS Office suite.
• Experience with accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and payroll.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise and work independently.
• Construction industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage all day-to-day accounts payable and receivable.
• Process supplier and subcontractor invoices and payments.
• Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Process payroll and superannuation.
• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with reporting.
• Follow up outstanding invoices and manage debtor enquiries.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and external accountants.
• Assist with project progress claims and variation documentation.
• Maintain project files and provide general admin support to the PM team.
