Job summary

Lake Macquarie City Council – Speers Point NSW is offering a 2-year Concreting Traineeship. You will gain hands-on experience across footpaths, cycleways, formwork, and drainage tasks while studying toward a qualification. The role runs 6:00am–3:30pm Tue–Fri with occasional weekend work.

Salary starts from AU$761.05 to AU$889.60 per week with 12% superannuation. This is a paid apprenticeship designed to develop practical skills in concreting and civil construction.

Qualifications

• Completion of Year 10 (Record of School Achievement) or equivalent, with satisfactory results in English and Mathematics.
• White Card (Construction Induction Card) or the ability to obtain one before commencing.
• Current Provisional Drivers Licence.
• Pursuing Certificate III in Concreting within the traineeship term.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a broad range of concreting and civil construction works, including maintenance and renewal projects.
• Operate small plant and equipment under supervision.
• Learn and apply concreting techniques, including screeding and finishing concrete across a variety of projects.
• Work collaboratively as part of a skilled and supportive team.
• Complete administrative tasks: timesheets, daily diaries, checklists and inductions.
• Undertake all work in accordance with WHS and quality requirements.
