Job summary

Catholic Healthcare Limited is seeking compassionate Community Workers to travel between Maroubra and Kogarah, helping older Australians live independently at home. You will assist with daily in-home tasks, transport clients to appointments, prepare meals, and offer social support to families.

No two days are the same in this varied community role. We welcome experienced caregivers and those new to the industry, with a Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Experience in home or community care is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable driver with access to a registered vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Support clients with day-to-day in-home tasks such as cleaning and tidying.
• Assist with transport to appointments and shopping.
• Meal preparation and basic in-home care tasks.
• Provide social support or respite for carers."

• Hourly rate from $34.50 to $37.00 + 25% casual loading + superannuation + $1.11 per km

• Location - Travelling to visit clients between Maroubra to Kogarah area

We are looking for passionate and caring individuals to make a difference in our clients' lives by assisting them to live at home independently for as long as possible. You will be travelling between Maroubra to Kogarah area in a varied and rewarding role - no two days will be the same!!

Day to day role looks like:

• Supporting and connecting with our clients assisting with day to day in home tasks - cleaning, tidying, washing and other tasks within the client's care plan
• Transport to appointments and shopping
• Meal preparation
• Social Support or Respite for family/carers
• Personal care including assistance with showering and dressing (if qualified/fully trained)

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

• A genuine passion for providing high quality care to older Australian's in the community
• To be comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people
• To be a reliable team player
• To have an understanding of workplace health and safety
• Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support highly regarded (but not essential)
• An Australian driver's licence and access to a registered motor vehicle (essential)
