Job summary

Foodworks is seeking a Store Manager to lead a busy supermarket, driving sales, gross profit, and daily operations across all departments. You will manage a capable team, ensure exceptional customer service, and uphold food safety and compliance standards in Queensland.

The role requires a hands-on leader with strong budgeting, inventory, and people-management skills to deliver outstanding store performance and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Proven store leadership experience in a high-volume retail environment.
• Strong ability to drive sales, control costs, and interpret financial data.
• Excellent people management and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, motivate, and develop the store team to achieve high performance and a positive, customer-centric culture
• Recruit, induct, train, and performance-manage team members in accordance with policies and awards
• Prepare and manage efficient, compliant rosters balancing demand and costs
• Oversee day-to-day store operations for smooth trading and presentation across departments
• Maintain high stock availability, accurate pricing, merchandising and planograms
• Manage inventory control, ordering, receiving, stocktakes, and shrinkage
• Drive sales growth, gross profit, and store profitability against targets and budgets
• Monitor and control key costs including wages, COGS, waste and expenses
• Ensure compliance with Queensland/Australian food safety standards, temperature control, hygiene and labeling
• Maintain strong WHS culture and safe systems of work for team and customers
