Job summary

Offshore Staff Assist is seeking professionals to fill Community Development Officer roles in Australian communities. The positions focus on facilitating community initiatives and delivering solutions across recreation, health, housing, employment and welfare sectors.

You will work with welfare agencies, government bodies and private partners to address local issues and expand access to resources. Responsibilities include assessing client needs, developing and delivering educational and support

Qualifications

AQF Associate Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma equivalent required (ANZSCO Skill Level 2).
Three years of relevant experience may substitute formal qualifications.
On-the-job training may be required in addition to formal qualifications.

Responsibilities

Assess clients' needs and devise, develop, and implement educational, training, and support programs.
Interview clients to determine the nature and extent of difficulties.
Monitor and report on client progress.
Refer clients to additional support agencies as needed.
Evaluate community needs in health, welfare, housing, employment, training, and other services.
Work with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies, and private businesses to address issues and raise awareness of resources.
Support families and provide education and care for children and disabled persons in various service units.
Supervise individuals on probation and parole.
Help young people with social, emotional, and financial challenges.
Prepare funding submissions and reports for government bodies and agencies.
