Our organisation is made up of employees working alongside more than 51,000 volunteers. We value the different skills, experience and viewpoints that people bring, because they strengthen how we operate and support the services Victorians rely on.

We aim to be a workplace where people feel supported to do meaningful work, develop professionally and contribute to outcomes that matter to the people and places we serve.

    About the Role

This role values relationships, collaboration, and adaptability.

Are you passionate about working with communities to reduce bushfire risk and build resilience?

Join CFA as a Community Based Bushfire Management (CBBM) Facilitator and play a key role in delivering a collaborative, community-centred approach to managing local bushfire risk.

In this dynamic role, you'll apply community development principles to address place-based bushfire challenges. You'll build and maintain strong relationships across communities, fire agencies, and local government, empowering communities to identify opportunities and take collective action on local bushfire priorities.

Working across community and agency networks, you'll facilitate collaboration to build a shared understanding of local risks, strengths, and priorities and strengthen partnerships that deliver meaningful outcomes, with a focus on evidence-based and nature-based approaches to risk reduction and bushfire resilience.

You will be part of the regional Community Safety team, as well as the broader state-wide, multi-agency Community First programme, supporting the delivery of Victoria's Bushfire Management Strategy.

    About you

If you're a relationship-builder who enjoys bringing people together, values collaboration, and can adapt your approach to engage effectively with diverse communities and perspectives, we'd love to hear from you.

Join us in helping create safer, stronger, and more resilient communities.

    Requirements:
    • Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard business hours (including some evenings and weekends) to engage with volunteers and community groups.
    • Some regional travel is required (a CFA vehicle will be provided).
    • A current driver's licence is essential.

Both full-time and part-time applicants are encouraged to apply.

A detailed position description is attached.
