Job summary

Novotel Devonport, part of the Accor portfolio, invites a skilled cook to join our waterfront hotel kitchen. You will prepare and cook dishes for all service periods, including functions, while maintaining mise en place and high presentation standards.

You’ll work under senior chefs to ensure a smooth, high-quality service. The role requires a trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or current study), with experience in hotel or commercial kitchens, strong food-safety knowledge, and

Qualifications

Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or currently undertaking).
Previous experience in a hotel or commercial kitchen.
Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
Ability to work independently within a section during service.
Strong time management and organisational skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook dishes across all service periods, including functions and events.
Set up and run a designated section during service.
Ensure mise en place is prepared and service ready.
Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.
Monitor stock levels and ensure proper storage and rotation.
Work closely with senior chefs to deliver a smooth, high-quality service.
