Job summary

Delaware North Australia is hiring a Commis Chef to join Lizard Island Resort. You will work with senior chefs to create dishes that impress guests in a high-volume, guest-focused kitchen on the Great Barrier Reef.

The role requires a Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety certificate, with prior Commis Chef experience preferred. This is a unique opportunity to grow within a global hospitality group and contribute to a Relais & Châteaux and 3 Michelin Key property.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef is required.
• Onboarding may require Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety certificate.
• Experience in an a' la carte restaurant or function service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a range of dishes in a high-volume production setting.
• Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards.
• Execute food preparation tasks, showcasing expertise in food presentation.
• Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area.
• Ensure HACCP and WHS compliance, conducting temperature and quality checks and managing cross-contamination.
