Job summary

Long Chim in Perth, located within the State Buildings, seeks Commis Chefs with deep fryer experience to join a vibrant kitchen that brings Bangkok’s street-food energy to life. This casual or part-time role offers hands-on training in an award-winning kitchen and opportunities to grow alongside renowned chefs.

You will fry to high standards, keep the fry station clean during service, and support the wider team while learning Thai cooking techniques.

Qualifications

• Requires a relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery.
• Minimum 1 year of Commis Chef experience with exposure to deep fryer operations.
• Experience with Asian cuisine and Thai cooking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute consistently high standards in fried dishes and snacks using the deep fryer.
• Maintain a clean and organised fry section during busy service.
• Support the broader kitchen team and learn Thai cooking techniques.

Long Chim is on the lookout for passionate Commis Chefs with deep fryer experience to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills in an award-winning kitchen that celebrates authentic Thai cuisine, teamwork, and energy.

We are open to Casual or Part Time role.

As part of the Long Chim kitchen brigade, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Executing consistently high standards in fried dishes and snacks, especially using the deep fryer
• Maintaining a clean and organised fry section during busy service
• Supporting the broader kitchen team while learning the intricacies of Thai cooking
• Understanding and respecting dietary needs across the menu
• Staying calm, fast, and focused under pressure

Skills and Experience

We’re looking for individuals who:

• Hold a relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery
• Have at least 1 year of experience as a Commis Chef, with exposure to deep fryer operations
• Experience with Asian cuisine
• Are flexible to work a range of shifts, including weekends and evenings
• Bring a strong work ethic, enthusiasm for Thai food, and eagerness to grow
