Job summary

Ovolo Hotels Group is seeking a Commis Chef for a part-time role in Australia. You will cook and prepare dishes using local seasonal produce, help with breakfast to dinner services, and support kitchen operations with a collaborative team. 1–2 years of Commis Chef experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience as a Commis Chef
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Comfortable following recipes and kitchen procedures

Responsibilities

• Take control of breakfast/lunch/dinner service and ensure guests receive a delicious experience
• Cook and manage breakfast and lunch service and assist with dinner service
• Set up and clean the kitchen after service
• Keep stocks at optimum conditions
• Ensure mise-en-place is freshly prepared and on time
• Prepare dishes according to recipes and quantities
• Communicate issues to Head Chef promptly
• Support fair treatment and courtesy among kitchen staff
• Monitor guest satisfaction, quality, and costs continuously
• Collect guest feedback during breakfast and report issues to Executive Chef
• Maintain high quality of production, preparation, and presentation
• Maintain personal grooming, cleanliness, and hygiene standards
• Assist with menus and new dishes
• Share ideas and suggestions in daily shift briefings
