Job summary

Intrepid Travel is seeking two Commis Chefs for Edge of the Bay, with a backdrop on Freycinet. You will help run the kitchen, apply local produce, and ensure high standards of food safety and quality.

These full-time permanent roles offer up to $79,385 AUD plus super and a range of benefits. Flexibility for weekends, evenings, and public holidays is required to support peak season operations.

We are looking for a talented and passionate Commis Chef to join our award-winning team at Edge of the Bay, set on the beach with a spectacular Freycinet backdrop. We are looking for someone who will bring your passion for fine food to elevate the dining experience to new heights for the region.

As our Commis Chef, you will play an instrumental part in the operation of our kitchen and have plenty of opportunities to showcase and develop your skills, led by our Head Chef who is passionate about using local produce to curate excellent menus and full flavours. You’ll ensure our customers are satisfied through high-quality dishes and that food safety and hygiene practices are followed in our kitchen operation.

We are actually looking for 2 Commis Chefs, and these are full-time permanent positions offering up to $79,385 plus super and a range of fantastic benefits in travel! You will need to be flexible for the roster to include weekend work, evenings and public holidays, and be able to start fairly quickly as we ramp up into our peak season.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

Experience within a food offering operation.

Experience and knowledge in different cooking techniques, styles and procedures.

Good time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.

Ability to cater for dietaries without compromising on enjoyment.

Ability to work as a team and to assist in all operations of the kitchen.

A natural communicator who finds it easy to chat to guests.
