Job summary

The BMD Group in Sydney is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Wentworth Point team. You will lead commercial strategy, contract administration, risk management and project mobilisation across transport, water and civil infrastructure, guiding outcomes from bid development through delivery on major projects.

You will work closely with operational leaders, clients and stakeholders to drive strong financial performance, manage claims and variations, and mentor commercial staff

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Quantity Surveying, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Significant commercial management experience within civil construction or major infrastructure environments.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, commercial risk management and project finance.
• Experience across tendering, procurement, delivery and close-out lifecycle.
• Proven ability to lead negotiations and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Strong leadership and influencing skills to partner with project teams and clients.

• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, legal requirements and BMD commercial frameworks.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our growing Sydney team. Based initially from our Wentworth Point office, you will play a critical role supporting major pursuits, contributing to commercial strategy, risk management and project mobilisation activities across a portfolio of transport, water and civil infrastructure opportunities. Upon successful project award, you will transition into a project-based leadership role, taking ownership of commercial outcomes throughout delivery on a major infrastructure project in Western Sydney. This is a unique opportunity to influence project success from bid development through to project completion, working closely with operational leaders, clients and key stakeholders to drive strong commercial performance and ensure successful project outcomes.

About You

We are seeking a commercially astute leader with a strong track record delivering successful outcomes on complex infrastructure projects. You will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Quantity Surveying, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Significant commercial management experience within civil construction or major infrastructure environments.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, commercial risk management and project finance.
• Experience working across project lifecycles, from tendering and procurement through to delivery and close-out.
• Proven ability to lead negotiations, manage stakeholder relationships and resolve complex commercial issues.
• Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills with the ability to partner effectively with project teams and clients.
