Job summary

BMD Group in Sydney is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Wentworth Point-based team. You will lead commercial strategy, contract administration and risk management across a portfolio of transport, water and civil infrastructure opportunities, guiding from bid development through project delivery.

The role offers exposure to major infrastructure, with responsibility for forecasting, cost control, variations and client negotiations, and mentoring junior commercial staff.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Quantity Surveying, Commerce.
• Significant commercial management experience within civil construction or major infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, commercial risk management and project finance.
• Experience across project lifecycles from tendering to delivery and close-out.
• Proven ability to lead negotiations, manage stakeholder relationships and resolve complex commercial issues.
• Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills to partner with project teams and clients.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our growing Sydney team. Based initially from our Wentworth Point office, you will play a critical role supporting major pursuits, contributing to commercial strategy, risk management and project mobilisation activities across a portfolio of transport, water and civil infrastructure opportunities. Upon successful project award, you will transition into a project-based leadership role, taking ownership of commercial outcomes throughout delivery on a major infrastructure project in Western Sydney. This is a unique opportunity to influence project success from bid development through to project completion, working closely with operational leaders, clients and key stakeholders to drive strong commercial performance and ensure successful project outcomes.

We are seeking a commercially astute leader with a strong track record delivering successful outcomes on complex infrastructure projects. You will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Quantity Surveying, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Significant commercial management experience within civil construction or major infrastructure environments.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, commercial risk management and project finance.
• Experience working across project lifecycles, from tendering and procurement through to delivery and close-out.
• Proven ability to lead negotiations, manage stakeholder relationships and resolve complex commercial issues.
• Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills with the ability to partner effectively with project teams and clients.
