Job summary

BMD Group is seeking a Civil Supervisor for our Perth-based team. This full-time, permanent role reports to the site leadership and focuses on delivering civil earthworks safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

You will lead direct labour and contracted teams, drive safe practices, and coordinate planning with the Superintendent and project stakeholders to keep the works on track and aligned with project goals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of supervisory experience in construction and/or resources sectors.
• Experience in civil works/earthworks, preferably on main roads projects.
• Strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven communicator with leadership and influence across teams.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Superintendent and key stakeholders to deliver your scope safely, on time and to quality.
• Drive safe outcomes and ensure BMD safety and cultural behaviours are applied by the team.
• Assist planning and scheduling for your works area in line with project requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the Project site to achieve outcomes.
• Plan works in your allocated area and manage direct labour and contracting groups.
• Foster a productive team environment with high morale contributing to project success.

About The Role

BMD is in a significant growth phase with a strong pipeline of projects in hand and as a result, we are looking for Civil Supervisor to join our Perth based team. Our foundations are built on family values which underpin our enduring collaborative approach.

Offered as a full time and permanent position, you will be responsible for:

• Work closely with the Superintendent and other key stakeholders in delivering your allocated work scope safely, on time and to the required quality standards
• Actively drive safe outcomes in undertaking all activities by ensuring that the BMD safety and cultural behaviours are applied by the team
• Contribute to and support short and medium-term planning and scheduling for your works area with respect to the overall project requirements
• Work closely with all other stakeholders across the Project site in achieving required outcomes
• Effectively planning works in your allocated area
• Manage and lead direct labour teams as well as contracting groups
• Provide a productive team environment where high morale contributes to the overall success of the project

About You

Great people skills and the ability to build trust is a must backed by strong communications skills. You may also:

• Have 5 years+ supervisory experience ideally within the construction and/or resources sector
• Previous general civils/earthworks experience within main roads projects
• Ability to work collaboratively and positively with a range of internal and external stakeholders;
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to problem solve;
• Proven communicator who can lead and positively influence those around them.
