Job summary

Bupa Australia is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join the Next Gen Voice Platform team, shaping the future of our Contact Centre on AWS Connect. You will design, implement, and manage cloud-based systems, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with leaders to ensure high-quality, reliable services for our customers.

You will bring 7+ years in cloud software engineering, strong IaC and CI/CD experience, and a focus on security in DevOps to support scalable, compliant delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or a related field.
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, SysOps) preferred.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with cloud-based systems.
• Experience with Amazon Connect and Lambda for data processing.
• Hands-on with AWS services: Lambda, DynamoDB, EC2, S3, RDS, IAM.
• Strong IaC experience with CloudFormation, Terraform or similar.
• CI/CD automation experience using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
• Solid DevSecOps understanding and security in DevOps pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own cloud services for the Next Gen Voice Platform, including AWS Landing Zone and accounts.
• Perform cloud engineering tasks and provide guidance to the product team.
• Ensure compliance with requirements, policies, and architectural principles.
• Develop high-quality design docs and provide accurate estimations.
• Implement IaC to deploy and manage cloud infrastructure.
• Automate deployments, monitoring, and maintenance for reliability and scale.
• Integrate security into the DevOps pipeline and perform security audits.
• Lead incident response and root cause analyses to prevent recurrences.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver rapidly.
