Job summary

TheDriveGroup is seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer for a Sydney-based, hybrid role on a 6–12 month contract. You will support cloud-based environments built on AWS, microservices, and APIs, working across incident response, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include monitoring via Datadog and Splunk, investigating incidents by log analysis, and collaborating with developers to resolve issues. On-call duties may apply after training.

Qualifications

• Experience in L2 application, production or platform support.
• Experience using Splunk or Datadog for incident triage.
• Understanding of APIs and microservices.
• Exposure to AWS or another public cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support across business-critical applications and services.
• Monitor application health and performance using Datadog and Splunk.
• Investigate incidents by analysing logs and tracing transactions across microservices.
• Troubleshoot login, OTP, reconciliation and points-conversion issues.
• Understand how APIs and microservices communicate and identify failure points.
• Read application code and create basic scripts when required.
• Take ownership of incidents through to resolution.
• Work closely with developers and technical teams.
• Propose improvements for reliability and monitoring.
• Join a supported on-call roster after training, expected ~6 months.
