Job summary

Ozcare in Malanda is seeking a part-time Cook / Kitchen Services Assistant to support our aged care clients. The role involves cooking, food preparation, and maintaining a clean kitchen alongside delivering meals to residents.

We value a warm, caring approach, flexibility, and prior kitchen experience. Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19, plus current police screening and First Aid/CPR certificates, are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated cooking experience for large groups.
• Experience in a kitchen environment is desirable.
• Current First Aid & CPR certificates.
• Food safety supervisor certification where applicable.
• Vaccination against influenza and at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook daily meals and snacks for clients, including ingredient prep and serving.
• Maintain a clean, safe, hygienic kitchen and dining area; manage dishes and restock supplies.
• Support kitchen operations: assist with food prep, menus, orders, and stock levels.
• Uphold food safety standards and document temperatures and procedures.

Job description

Ozcarehas a permanent part-time position available for aCook / Kitchen Services Assistant supporting our clients at our beautiful Malanda Aged Care Facility.

This is a dual position and will involve recurrent shifts as a Cook, involving cooking in our kitchen when you are not required as Kitchen Hand.

Your Role

As a Kitchen Services Assistant - you'll be looking after the most important people in our organisation - our clients. Your tasks will include:

• Prepare and cook daily meals and snacks, including ingredient preparation, operating kitchen equipment, serving food, delivering meals to clients, and collecting used dishes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen and dining environment by washing dishes, restocking supplies, cleaning surfaces and floors, managing rubbish, and handling food trolleys.
• Support overall kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, organising menus, managing food and equipment orders, and ensuring stock levels are maintained.
• Uphold food safety standards by recording temperatures, completing required documentation, and following safe food handling procedures.

Role Requirements

• Demonstrated experience working in a kitchen environment is desirable
