Job summary

Ozcare is inviting applications for a permanent part-time Cook / Kitchen Services Assistant, based at our Malanda Aged Care Facility. The role blends cooking duties with kitchen hand tasks to support clients and team members.

You will prepare meals, maintain kitchen hygiene, assist with menus and stock, and uphold food safety standards in a caring aged care environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated previous cooking experience for large groups.
• Demonstrated experience working in a kitchen environment.
• Current Police Screening Certificate (valid within the last 3 years).
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (where applicable).
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook daily meals and snacks, including ingredient preparation, operating kitchen equipment, serving food, delivering meals to clients, and collecting used dishes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen and dining environment by washing dishes, restocking supplies, cleaning surfaces and floors, managing rubbish, and handling food trolleys.
• Support overall kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, organising menus, managing food and equipment orders, and ensuring stock levels are maintained.
• Uphold food safety standards by recording temperatures, completing required documentation, and following safe food handling procedures.
• Be vaccinated against Influenza & at least 1 dose of Covid-19 vaccine; Current Police Screening Certificate; Food Safety Supervisor Certificate; Demonstrated cooking/kitchen experience; Current First Aid & CPR Certificates.

Ozcarehas a permanent part-time position available for aCook / Kitchen Services Assistant supporting our clients at our beautiful Malanda Aged Care Facility.

This is a dual position and will involve recurrent shifts as a Cook, involving cooking in our kitchen when you are not required as Kitchen Hand.

Your Role

As a Kitchen Services Assistant - you'll be looking after the most important people in our organisation - our clients. Your tasks will include:

Role Requirements
