Job summary

LGT Group in Australia is seeking a Team Leader to establish and run the Client Onboarding function within Front Office Advisory. You will lead process design, set standards and build a high-performing onboarding team.

You will ensure KYC/AML/compliance, manage risk, engage stakeholders across Advisers, Operations and Financial Crime, and drive continuous improvement with technology and AI-enabled tools. This is a fixed-term contract position.

Qualifications

• Experience in client onboarding, operations or client services within a professional environment.
• Experience applying KYC, AML/CTF and customer due diligence in financial services, wealth management or similar regulated setting.
• Understanding onboarding risk indicators like ownership structures, source of wealth/funds, PEPs, sanctions and adverse media.
• Experience reviewing onboarding submissions for quality and risk alignment.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing teams.
• Strong attention to detail, communication and stakeholder management in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the establishment and ongoing development of the Client Onboarding function within Front Office Advisory.
• Define and embed operating processes, workflows and service standards for onboarding delivery.
• Build, lead and develop a team of Client Onboarding Associates, including recruitment as the function grows.
• Set clear expectations, ways of working and performance standards across the team.
• Oversee onboarding documentation, ensuring KYC/AML/CFT and due diligence requirements are met.
• Ensure client identification verification, ownership, source of wealth and regulatory compliance.
• Escalate higher-risk cases and work with Financial Crime to resolve queries.
• Collaborate across Front Office Advisory, Operations and Financial Crime to improve quality and efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement and adoption of technology, automation and AI-enabled tools.
• Coach and develop onboarding staff to maintain first-line defence responsibilities.
• Monitor performance, turnaround times and escalation of complex cases.
• Aim for first-time-right onboarding outcomes.
