Job summary

QStay is seeking a hands-on Cleaning Manager to ensure every apartment is cleaned, inspected and presented to high standards across Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach on the Gold Coast. You will lead external cleaners and internal QC teams, coordinate schedules and inspections, and proactively resolve issues to safeguard guest experience.

You’ll balance leadership with practical involvement, travel between properties, and maintain records to monitor contractor performance and cleanliness outcomes.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cleaning management, housekeeping management or cleaning supervisory role.
• Experience managing external contractors and/or an internal cleaning team.
• A strong eye for detail and exceptionally high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple properties and competing priorities.
• Confident communication and people-management skills.
• A proactive approach to identifying problems and finding practical solutions.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions and take ownership of outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate external cleaning companies across Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach.
• Manage cleaning schedules, allocations and priorities in line with guest arrivals, departures and occupancy.
• Book spring cleans, deep cleans, additional cleans and specialist cleaning services as required.
• Communicate cleaning standards, feedback and corrective actions to cleaning contractors.
• Monitor contractor performance, reliability, turnaround times and consistency of work.
• Lead and manage the internal quality-control checking and cleaning team.
• Conduct regular inspections of apartments following cleans and before guest arrivals where required.
• Ensure apartments meet QStay's cleanliness, presentation, linen, amenity and overall guest-readiness standards.
• Maintain accurate cleaning schedules, inspection records and contractor performance information.

Job description

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all apartments are cleaned, inspected and presented to QStay standards, ready for arriving guests. You will coordinate external cleaning companies, supervise internal QC checkers and cleaners, conduct regular apartment inspections and proactively resolve cleaning issues before they impact the guest experience. This is a hands-on management position that requires a balance of leadership, organisation and practical involvement in cleaning and quality control.
