Job summary

DOBCEL invites applications for a fixed term, full-time Gr 1 Classroom Teacher role commencing Term 1 2027 and concluding at the end of the 2027 school year. The position supports Catholic Education within a learning community that values safety, wellbeing and inclusion.

The successful applicant will deliver engaging curriculum aligned to Victorian Curriculum and AITSL standards, foster a positive classroom environment, and collaborate with colleagues on planning, instruction and assessment.

Qualifications

• Understanding and Commitment to Catholic Identity and Mission.
• High-level knowledge of Victorian Curriculum and AITSL standards with evidence-based teaching.
• Strategies for fostering a safe and positive classroom environment.
• Experience collaborating with colleagues in planning, instruction and assessment.
• Current VIT registration or eligibility; Accreditation to teach Religious Education.

Job description

Fixed Term - Full Time - 12 month position

Applications are invited from suitably experienced and graduate persons for a full time, fixed term position for a Gr 1 Classroom Teacher to commence in Term 1 2027 until the end of the 2027 school year. Those seeking a part time role are also invited to apply. This is a Teacher Category position under the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022 with remuneration subject to a salary assessment.

• Ensure the delivery of curriculum that reaches and engages students with a diverse range of educational abilities and backgrounds;

Key Selection Criteria:

• Understanding and Commitment to Catholic Identity and Mission;
• Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration (or be eligible for registration);
• A current or be willing to obtain an Accreditation to teach Religious Education Certificate;
• Demonstrated high- level knowledge of Victorian Curriculum and the AITSL standards with best practice, evidence-based approaches to teaching and learning;
• Evidence of effective strategies for fostering a safe and positive classroom environment;
• Experience collaborating effectively with colleagues in planning, instruction, and assessment.
