Job summary

MAYDAY Recruitment Group is partnering with a well-established insurer in Melbourne to recruit an experienced Claims Consultant on a temporary basis through to the end of 2026. The role offers $43–$47 per hour plus super with an immediate start.

You will process claims from notification through resolution, assess information, liaise with customers, brokers and assessors, coordinate assessments and repairs, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous claims processing experience essential.
• Experience in an insurance environment.
• Property claims experience desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proficient with claims management systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage claims from notification to resolution.

About the client

MAYDAY Recruitment is partnering with a well‑established and highly regarded insurer seeking an experienced Claims Consultant to join their VIC Claims team on a temporary basis until the end of the year.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced claims professional who can hit the ground running, manage a busy portfolio and provide high-quality service to customers throughout the claims process.

Property claims experience is highly desirable, but most importantly, you’ll bring proven claims processing experience and the ability to work confidently in a fast‑paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Processing and managing claims from notification through to resolution
• Assessing claim information and determining appropriate outcomes
• Liaising with customers, brokers, assessors, suppliers and other stakeholders
• Coordinating assessments, repairs and other claim requirements
• Maintaining accurate claim records and documentation
• Managing customer enquiries and providing regular updates
• Ensuring claims are processed efficiently and in line with relevant policies and procedures

What We’re Looking For

• Previous claims processing experience – essential
• Experience managing claims within an insurance environment
• Property claims experience highly desirable
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Confident communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise competing claims
• Experience using claims management systems and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to hit the ground running and work effectively
