Job summary

Woollahra Council is seeking skilled Operational Workers to join our Civil Works Team at the Fletcher Street depot, minutes from Bondi Junction Train Station. You will perform labouring duties and civil maintenance such as asphalt, drainage and concreting across Woollahra’s local government area.

You should be a true all-rounder, capable of working autonomously or in a team, with a positive can-do attitude and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Current MR Driver’s Licence, or able to obtain within three months.
• Workplace WHS General Induction for Construction Work in NSW (Whitecard).
• Demonstrated civil maintenance experience and safe work practices.
• Ability to follow policies and procedures to required standards.
• Commitment to WHS, EEO principles and public-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Carry out labouring and civil maintenance tasks (asphalting, drainage, concreting).
• Assist in maintaining civil infrastructure across the Woollahra LGA.
• Work collegially with your team to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Maintain safety and professionalism when engaging with the public.

• Salary up to $79,298 pa + 12% Super + additional $2,726 allowance
• Convenient location - steps from Bondi Junction train station
• 6am to 3pm, Monday to Friday + fortnightly rostered day off

About the role

We have multiple exciting opportunities for skilled Operational Workers to join our growing Civil Works Team based at the Fletcher Street depot in Woollahra, minutes from Bondi Junction Train Station. Reporting to the Civil Works Team Leader, you will work collaboratively with your team to carry out various labouring duties and civil maintenance tasks associated with construction (such as asphalting, drainage and concreting works) in order to maintain the civil infrastructure throughout the Woollahra Local Government Area. If you enjoy working collaboratively, have a positive can-do attitude and don't mind getting your hands dirty, then this is the job for you! About you

We are looking for people that are a true all rounder, able to work both autonomously and as part of a dynamic team to meet deadline. You will be a high achiever with:

• Current MR Driver’s Licence, or able to successfully obtain within the first three months of employment.
• Workcover WH&S General Induction for Construction Work in NSW (Whitecard).
• Demonstrated skills and experience in a range of civil maintenance duties
• Proven ability to carry out work in accordance with established policies and procedures, as directed to the required standards in a safe and efficient manner.
• Understanding of and commitment to WHS and EEO principles and relevant legislation.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with the public in high profile areas.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
