Job summary

Woollahra Council is seeking a Civil Works - Operational Worker (Labourer) based at the Fletcher Street depot in Woollahra, near Bondi Junction. The role involves assisting with asphalting, drainage and concreting to maintain civil infrastructure across the local area.

You will report to the Civil Works Team Leader and work in a team environment, with opportunities to develop your career while enjoying a supportive workplace and a fortnightly rostered day off.

Qualifications

• Current MR Driver’s Licence, or able to obtain within first three months of employment.
• Workplace WH&S General Induction for Construction Work in NSW (White Card).
• Demonstrated skills and experience in civil maintenance duties.
• Ability to work to established policies and procedures safely and efficiently.
• Understanding of WHS and EEO principles and relevant legislation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with the public.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out labouring duties and civil maintenance tasks for construction projects (asphalting, drainage, concreting).

• Salary up to $79,298 pa + 12% Super + additional $2,726 allowance

• 6am to 3pm, Monday to Friday + fortnightly rostered day off

About the role

We have multiple exciting opportunities for skilled Operational Workers to join our growing Civil Works Team based at the Fletcher Street depot in Woollahra, minutes from Bondi Junction Train Station.

Reporting to the Civil Works Team Leader, you will work collaboratively with your team to carry out various labouring duties and civil maintenance tasks associated with construction (such as asphalting, drainage and concreting works) in order to maintain the civil infrastructure throughout the Woollahra Local Government Area.
